Hello Tallyho Members,
First of all, we hope that you are staying safe and well at home with your family. These are uncertain times for sure, and we join you in longing for summer and the simple pleasure of a nice sunny day at Tallyho.
We are writing with an update on the 2020 season regarding opening day and the new online membership and dues platform.
We plan to open for a 2020 season. We have been working with our pool management company to ready the pool and grounds for our original opening day (May 16). However, based on current information, we suspect this date will be pushed out. Our plan is to open as soon as it is safe and determined appropriate by the state and county governments.
Membership Fees and Process
Regarding 2020 fees, the board voted on three updates recently:
1) The full season base dues will remain the same as they were for the 2019 season ($625);
2) If the pool opens significantly later than planned, we will pro-rate dues based on this annual rate; and
3) We will delay dues invoicing until the end of April, when we hopefully have more information to determine the pool opening date.
Our club is in good financial standing, but we do need to ensure that operating expenses are covered. We are collaborating with our pool management company to reduce costs and focus on absolute necessary activities. Our new online membership platform (with no paper invoices) should expedite the membership fees process, but the condensed timeline will reduce the amount of time members have to pay their dues for 2020. Next steps will include:
By the end of this month all members will receive an email with instructions to create an account in our new online platform, MemberSplash and begin the process of 2020 dues payment via credit card.
Finally, we will be accepting new members for 2020. If you have a neighbor or friend looking to join Tallyho, please have them reach out. We will work with prospective new members individually to process applications so that they too can jump in the pool the first day we open.
While we are reluctant to speculate on opening dates, we are working hard to plan for the season with multiple scenarios (Keep in mind, Memorial Day Weekend is still a long 6 weeks away!). We wish we had a crystal ball to anticipate the magic date that we can begin “normal” again. Tallyho has long been a cornerstone of our community and we know COVID19 will only make us stronger and more ready to spend time with our neighbors and friends at the pool, particularly savoring some freedoms of summer.
As always, reach out with questions. We will provide more news and communication as it happens.
